I would not be honest if I did not say some of the blogs I read are one of the reasons we have placed our adoptions on hold. So we can make sure this is the path to a family we want to take. There are other reasons too. My heart goes out to you...
Meg, I'd actually hate it if I were part of the reason you were hesitant about adoptions. Only maybe 6 of my children have been severely mentally or emotionally ill. I'd hate for you to miss out on a Yolie, a Daniel, a Sabrina, a Monica, a Martin or many of the other darlings I've parented. I went to your blog just now and saw your involvement with Gladney which is a superb place for adoption. One of the best.
It is mostly $$$$ to be saved to take off 3 month with out pay. Blasted co does not offer "maternity" benefits for adoption. So I keep hoping we close so a few more deals this year, which will provide a hefty bonus.
I feel I am more able to go in to this process with the unbelievable education you and the others have provided me. I said on hold... not stopped.
Oh and I want to make sure in the new year we both still have jobs... Since we are both in commercial real estate.
