Simple Happiness

Again I'm using Tony's photos.

On 20-20 there was an entire episode dedicated to payback.  Really?  This is the message we wanna send folks? Revenge?  I don't think so.

I so hate confrontations that I'll allow folks to 'get away with saying crap about me' or to butt in line in front of me, or whatever.  It just doesn't mean enough to me to pay 'em back, plus Biblically that's wrong  Duh.  My rights end where yours begin.

It's a hard message for me to teach my teenagers who balk at adults disrespecting them.  Adults like their teachers who correct their behavior.  Hello?  Young 'uns gotta learn they need to earn respect, it's not an undeserved gift.

I switched over to The Weather Channel only to get a shock.  A tornado touched down in Hampton, Virginia, and they were showing a video of the Hampton Yacht Club, just two block away from Grandma's old house.

Talking with my brother, Gary, he'd seen the rotation, he'd lost tree branches and sadly, a Great Blue Heron's Nest, the baby birds, the size of ducks, dead on the ground, a heart wrenching sight.  Thankfully, no human injuries at all.

I'd steamed Tabby's cabbage, some squash and onions from the garden, pigging out way past dark because we're in a cool snap in which I worked outside all evening without sweating.  How is that even possible?  It's June, for Pete's Sake.  I'm not complaining though.

It's so calm and nice here, all these teenagers acting right, I'm so enjoying spending quality time with them all, everyone getting along, no rages, no temper dysregulation, no destruction, no attacks, no assaults - which is how it should be in a family, my 12 kids still at home deserve no less than this, I deeply regret the other years of violence.

I moved to the deep south after being in the mid west. It astounds me that folks don't have basements when this area gets tornadoes. I understand folks close to the coastline, but elsewhere? We get tornadoes, we need shelter.

Must be mid west sense talking.

Nowadays the newer houses do have basements. I don't have a clue why there aren't more though.
